El secretario de Salud en el estado, Luis Barrera Ríos, dijo estar listo para combatir el dengue en todos los municipios de Guerrero y evitar así que se incremente el número de casos registrados en lo que va del año.
En reunión con el Comité Estatal contra el Dengue, Barrera Ríos informó que en lo que va del 2007 se tienen registrados en Guerrero 549 casos de dengue, 429 de la modalidad clásica y 120 clasificados como hemorrágicos.
Barrera Ríos dijo que desde el pasado 26 de marzo 651 trabajadores eventuales y 196 empleados de base de la dependencia a su cargo, quienes operan 43 máquinas pesadas, 368 motomochilas y 96 vehículos trabajan en una campaña "de reforzamiento".
Dentro de estas actividades se encuentra la cobertura total de control larvario, nebulización espacial e intradomiciliaria y la aplicación de abate líquido en pipas en las cuatro ciudades con más casos, como Chilpancingo, Iguala, Zihuatanejo y en Acapulco.
El secretario de Salud informó que las autoridades del Centro Nacional de Vigilancia Epidemiológica y Control de Enfermedades, apoyan con 30 técnicos, 13 vehículos, cinco máquinas nebulizadoras y cinco toneladas de abate que fueron canalizados a Guerrero.
Por su parte el director adjunto de Programas Preventivos de Salud del Cenavece, Carlos Álvarez Lucas, anunció que en breve apoyarán con actividades de capacitación con especialistas en la materia, además de que enviarán cinco toneladas de abate y más vehículos para intensificar los recorridos preventivos.
